How will you survive when the new cap and trade tax on carbon emissions doubles your electric bill? It is one of the many taxes proposed by Obama. He also wants to tax the oil companies which will lead to $4+ gallon gas prices. How are you going to survive?
That is not going to happen. But if it did I would simply turn it off.Its been fun but I can live with just a generator.Solar to run the fridge, not a problem. When gas was that high I didn't drive much,so they weren't making a living off me.Since I am too old to walk I can give up much before I will my car. Wow, I guess you'll just have to get use to the sort of energy costs the rest of the world has been living with for decades!

Perhaps we'll send Obama the bill? Or show up at the town meeting and ask him for help in front of the whole nation.

Not a problem.
100% of my electricity is renewable–with 40% coming from hydroelectric w/the remainder coming from solar, wind, and geo-thermal.
I live north of the 45th parallel, too.
All it takes is a desire to live in harmony with the earth.
